Pink, pink and more pink!

Yay! I finally figured out how to watermark thru Sketchbook Pro! So I decided to go back to the beginning and mark all the cards I have made so far in case I need it in the future. Luckily I have only been at this for just over 6 months but it still turned into a full days work! The point of this is that I found a couple cards that I never posted. So here are a few of them that just also happened to be pink!

I made this card for the VSN challenge that I hosted in May. My challenge was to make a card that was tough and girly. I had tons of fun with that one! My image is from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils then blended with baby oil.

Another Doodle Dragon Studios image from Dustin Pike. Also colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. For the part with the hearts I used stencils to dry emboss then lightly added a touch of pink with sponge daubers. I traced the large hearts with stickles then added some shimmer spray to top it off.

For this one I decided to draw my own golf tee then used sponge daubers for the sky background, stamped the grass then cut a 2" circle and used a colored pencil to draw and lightly shade the divets for the golf ball.

Now for the pinkest of the pink! I sponged the background then used the same color ink to stamp the flowers. I'm not sure where I got this image from so if anyone knows please let me know so I can give credit to this cute little guys creator! I colored him with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.

Whew! That was a long one!! Heading back to my office now to finish up the father's day cards I'm working on...will I ever stop waiting until the last minute????

Fishing Birthday

This was a last minute card. Tony called from work around 4 asking me to make a card for a friend that needed to be ready by the morning. That seems like a lot of time but not with a toddler running around! I really only had about 3 hours. With that said I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.

The images are from Doodle Dragon Studios and the Woodgrain paper is from DCWV All About Boys paper stack.

Welcome Baby Card & Gift Box

I made this adorable little card for Tony's cousin. Him and his wife are expecting a boy. The image is from Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used a glitter gel pen and Stickles to make the rattle pop. I also used the glitter gel on the sentiment and Stickles on the handprint sticker. The baby rattle paper is from The Paper Studio Jung-a-low Bung-a-low Baby paper pack.

I also made a gift box to go with it. I used the same materials as the card along with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass to give a cloudy look to the image and sentiment. On the inside of the box I used the rest of the rattle paper to give the box a little extra support and decoration. Finished it off with a little ribbon and bow.

Where Did February Go?

I can't believe its been so long since my last post! Its amazing how fast life can run away with your time. Haven't made much new stuff lately. But I do have lots of ideas and plans...thats something right? I did pull out somethings yesterday and came across a card I had made for the ABC Christmas Challenge the theme was Black and White. I never entered it cause the night i finished it the blizzard knocked out our cable which also knocked out our internet and the challenge was over by the time it came back on. So I decided to take a picture and post it today to get myself going again.

I do have a lot of things in the works: a couple birthday cards, st. patricks day cards, easter cards, and 2 expecting cards. I printed a bunch of digi stamps last night and I am off to color them!!

Original Christmas Card Idea

It's still busy, busy, busy around here but I did manage to finish a christmas card with my original idea.

Its a small change but I love it and really wish I had the time to make them all like this originally.

Today is my son Seth's 2nd birthday party so I need to fly around the house cleaning and setting up. I can not wait for tomorrow for the house to go back to normal. Planning to post all my recent little projects I have been working on!

My First Christmas Card

Right before Thanksgiving I had the idea to handmake my Christmas cards. Being my first time I thought it would be pretty quick and easy. If I start the weekend after Thanksgiving they will definately be ready to go out by the first week in December. HaHa they went out either the 15th or 16th. Not too bad but I was NOT thinking about everything else that would be going on. This year my goal is to be finished before October so that hopefully they will be ready by Thanksgiving.

On top of the rush to get them to the post office I didn't think of taking pictures or even saving one for myself until they were done and gone. But luckily last weekend one came back to me in the mail. So now I have pics of my first Christmas card!

I didn't really know much about card making so I just took the idea that I had and ran with it. The snowman is a clip art graphic (I had no clue at the time what digi stamps were). For the background I bought a snowflake stencil and did a layer with a dark blue distress ink and an overlapping layer with a medium blue stamp ink. Found the perfect ribbon to match at Michaels and added a snowflake sticker in the corner. The sticker was not my original plan. Hopefully tomorrow i can make another card with my original idea. That way I will have a hard copy of each.
