Kids Favorite Food VSN Challenge

For this challenge you needed to make a card using foods kids love to eat.

What kid doesn't love cupcakes?! This little cutie is from Doodle Dragon Studios. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and blended them with baby oil. The background paper is from The Paper Studios All Seasons paper pack. I layered the image with black paper then used the drippy goo punch and edged it with purple stickles. I distressed the papers with sandpaper and added Stickles to the hair ties and bow on the skull.

That's the last card I made for the Back to School VSN!! Now I need to get started on the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over on Splitcoaststampers.com. I'll be back really soon with lots more cards to share!!

Classroom Layout VSN Challenge

This challenge is to follow a classroom layout sketch.

A nice and simple card here. The background paper was found in my scrap pile. Then I just used 9 punched snowflakes. Stamped the Tis the season and added 2 more smaller punched snowflakes.

One more card left to share then I'm all caught up!

Sandbox Follies VSN Challenge

This challenge is to use sand in some way. I used sandpaper to ruff up my image and background paper.

My pumpkin is from Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I found the background paper in my scrap pile. I used Momento Tuxedo Black for my edging color. The row of pumpkins is from a EK punch called Pumpkin Patch. I punched it in black and orange then off set them for a shadow effect.

I think I only have 2 more cards to share til I'm all caught up!!

The Color Red VSN Challenge

For this challenge use the color Red on your project.

My santa crab is from Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used stickles on the hat and as a border around the die cut edge. I doodled around the image edge with a red marker. The paper is from The Paper Studio Spunky-Funky Christmas paper pack.

Thats it a nice and simple christmas card. Thanks for looking!

Don't Get Caught Daydreaming VSN Challenge

This challenge is to use the Glitter Window technique. I love this technique and can't wait to use it again!

I used this Glitter Window technique tutorial. To make the blue background I used Momento ink in Summer Sky and Danube Blue then stamped snowflakes in Summer Sky. For the glitter window snowflakes I used Paris Dusk Momento ink. To add a little more sparkle I used Stickles glitter glue around the Let It Snow.

Graffiti It Up! VSN Challenge

I had lots of fun with this challenge. You just needed to use something that sprays.

To make this card I edged the base with Antique Linen Distress Ink. For the tree layer I took a ziploc bag and rubbed it with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Ink then misted with water. Next I laid the bag over my paper and gently rubbed the ink in. After the ink dried for a few minutes I stamped the trees.

Classroom Supplies VSN Challenge

This challenge is to use some kind of classroom supply on your card. I found a couple cute paperclips to use.

I love how this birthday card came out! The image is from Bugaboo. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and blended them with baby oil. I used The Paper Studios All Seasons II for the background. The 'It's your day!' is from Stampendous Party Invite set. The 'Make a Wish' is from TPC Studio Brush Stroke Greetings set.

Whoo hoo! Thats number 4!

No Doggy Ears, Please! VSN Challenge

This challenge is to make a bookmark. With Halloween coming up I have been reading a disney spooky stories book to my son. The book has around 20 stories in it so this bookmark is perfect to keeping our place.

I used Momento ink in Paris Dusk and Tuxedo Black for the background. The bats are from Recollections Halloween set, the Trick or Treat is from Inkadinkado Trick or Treat set and the Pumpkin  is called Spooky Jack-o-lantern from Hampton Art.

My son really loves using this bookmark. I think I'll make one for his Christmas stories book too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Back to Basics VSN Challenge

I'm behind on everything! Between my energetic 3 year old and some light remodeling on the house I've been pretty busy lately. Back To School Virtual Stamp Night over at Splitcoaststampers was over a week ago. I fought thru a bad cold to get samples made for most of the challenges but then I was hit again with a nasty sinus infection the week of VSN. So needless to say I never got my cards blogged or even posted on SCS. I still want to share my cards so without further ado...

The challenge I hosted was Back to Basics. Everyone was challenged to use something that starts with A, B and C like image, color, embellishment. I made 2 cards one fall and one christmas themed.

For the fall card my abc's were- A- Autumn, B- Bear and C- Colored pencils.

My image is from Doodle Dragon Studios. It's colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. The background is from The Paper Studio's All Season's paper pack. I aged the image and paper with Tea Dye distress ink and ran my scissors along the edge to tear it up a bit.

For this card my abc's are- A- Animal, B- Blue and C- Christmas.

I dug thru my scraps for this card and hit the jackpot. The blue snowflake strip on the left was already embossed and edged with blue ink. Also the glittered strip on the bottom was already punched and was the perfect fit! All I had to do was color my Doodle Dragon Studios image and ran it thru my Silhouette. For the background I used Paris Dusk Momento ink to edge and then stamp the snowflakes.

One down... Several more to go!
