Mother Bird

I made this card and framed saying for my uncle to give his mother for Mother's Day.

I surprised him with the card and thankfully he really liked it. The image is from Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I didn't have much time so I kept it pretty simple but the flowers and the bird are layered and popped up for dimension. I love doing this it gave so much life to the card while keeping it clean looking.

I'm entering the card in Dream Valley Challenges - Things with Wings

His mother carries this saying in her wallet and he thought it would be nice to frame it so she can hang it in her bedroom. He brought me the frame and I made the background paper. The saying is printed on Vellum. To make the background I crumbled the paper, flattened it out then rubbed Tim Holts distress ink on it. Then I used the tea staining technique but with coffee...I don't drink tea so I didn't have any around to try this. I really like the darker color you get with the coffee. I almost forgot when I was drying the paper I flipped it to let the other side dry better. That side almost perfectly matched the frame so I used that side. Ink colors- Antique Linen and Walnut Stain.
