Father's Day Cards

A little late as usual.... I made this one for Tony. Right now my son's favorite thing to say is "Follow Me" and of course loves cars and trucks. Inside we stamped his handprints with the year and his age. The images are from Doodle Dragon Studios. Colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.

Graduation Card

Its Graduation time!! I made this card for an 8th grade graduate. Her favorite color is purple but the bright colors of this card were inspired by the cupcake picture over at Cupcake Inspirations.  I'm entering it in the challenge there.

Pink, pink and more pink!

Yay! I finally figured out how to watermark thru Sketchbook Pro! So I decided to go back to the beginning and mark all the cards I have made so far in case I need it in the future. Luckily I have only been at this for just over 6 months but it still turned into a full days work! The point of this is that I found a couple cards that I never posted. So here are a few of them that just also happened to be pink!

I made this card for the VSN challenge that I hosted in May. My challenge was to make a card that was tough and girly. I had tons of fun with that one! My image is from Dustin Pike's Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils then blended with baby oil.

For the part with the hearts I used stencils to dry emboss then lightly added a touch of pink with sponge daubers. I traced the large hearts with stickles then added some shimmer spray to top it off. 

For this one I decided to draw my own golf tee then used sponge daubers for the sky background, stamped the grass then cut a 2" circle and used a colored pencil to draw and lightly shade the divets for the golf ball.

Now for the pinkest of the pink! I sponged the background then used the same color ink to stamp the flowers. I'm not sure where I got this image from so if anyone knows please let me know so I can give credit to this cute little guys creator! I colored him with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil.

Whew! That was a long one!! Heading back to my office now to finish up the father's day cards I'm working on...will I ever stop waiting until the last minute????

Peace & Love Birthday Card

Another clean and simple card. I sponged the background using yellow in the center and orange on the edges. Used some black ribbon on the corners and layered it twice for a nice bold effect.

Just A Note Dragon

A nice clean & simple card today. I left it blank for later use. I love this image cause it can be used for a simple thinking of you, missing you, thank you or even an I'm sorry card.

Finger Painting Cards!

Yesterday morning I came up with an idea to get my son to sit still so I could do a post. I cleaned up after breakfast, pulled out his finger paints and paper, covered the island stool with an old towel, got the laptop set up, got a fresh cup of coffee and announced "Your going to finger paint!!" he looked at me and his eyes were getting big and he was starting to smile....then he shook his head and said "No, no thanks" well as polite as he was I wasn't giving up without a fight! I gave him something he couldn't resist...his own paintbrush!

There was only one problem with my plan...he's a fast painter! By the time I took 4 pictures and sat down he was done already!!

The best part of this is that its directly linked to a card I made recently during VSN. The challenge was for kids (or kids at heart) to make a card using a food item or use a food as inspiration. But he's a little to young and active to directly help so I made a card for his Great Great Grandma's 90th birthday using one of his finger paintings as a background. I LOVE this idea!! It turned out great and was loved by everyone who saw it. The image was a freebie from Dustin Pike and I colored it with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil.

VSN Cards

These cards were all made for the Pirate Party Mini VSN at Splitcoaststampers. I had the honor of creating a challenge for the main event, I'll post those later. This was my first time playing and first time hosting. I had a blast and can't wait until the next one!! I gotta add that the biggest challenge of VSN is creating a card in 45 minutes or less!!

For this card the challenge was to use fabric. I used this cut off left over from recovering my office chair. I stamped the skull and crossbones then went over it with stickles. The image is from Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used baby oil to blend but only on the necessary parts cause I was running out of time!

This card was a sketch challenge. Image is also from Doodle Dragon Studios and was colored with Prismacolor pencils. 

This one was a color challenge. Use Yellow, Orange, Green and a splash of Blue. The challenge was named Pretty Bird...I was pretty proud of myself for working that into the card!! Image is from Doodle Dragon Studios. Colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended quickly with baby oil.

Now this one was really out of my element. It was a photo inspiration challenge. I sponged the sky, ran a distress ink pad over the bottom for the sand, I drew and cut out the umbrella and beer bottles, then hand wrote the sentiment.

The last one was a challenge to use wood. Be it actual wood, woodgrain or an image with wood in it. I chose a wooden boat. I used baby wipes and ink to create the soft sky and water background. The image is yet again Doodle Dragon Studios! I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and used a black gel pen for the ropes.

Whew!! That was a long one!! Just wait for the main event ones!! I will probably have to break those up a bit. Now if you will excuse me I have a ton of laundry waiting for me! :)
