Mod Squad Challenge- A Few Of My Favorite Things

Can't believe I'm finally getting back to making cards after over a year away from it.  I got burnt after the holidays last year then got hit with the flu. After recuperating I I found out I was pregnant and it was twins!! What a surprise that was! Now my boys are here and I'm slowly finding some crafting time. Yay!

I'm jumping back into it with the 1st challenge over at Mod Squad Challenge Blog. The challenge is "A Few Of My Favorite Things" I used Distress Inks, distressed edges, die cut circle and layering of an image.

Although it's hard to tell there's 6 layers on my rose. Here's another image that hopefully shows the rose layers a little better!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. Happy crafting!!

Kids Favorite Food VSN Challenge

For this challenge you needed to make a card using foods kids love to eat.

What kid doesn't love cupcakes?! This little cutie is from Doodle Dragon Studios. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and blended them with baby oil. The background paper is from The Paper Studios All Seasons paper pack. I layered the image with black paper then used the drippy goo punch and edged it with purple stickles. I distressed the papers with sandpaper and added Stickles to the hair ties and bow on the skull.

That's the last card I made for the Back to School VSN!! Now I need to get started on the Hope You Can Cling To challenges over on Splitcoaststampers.com. I'll be back really soon with lots more cards to share!!

Sandbox Follies VSN Challenge

This challenge is to use sand in some way. I used sandpaper to ruff up my image and background paper.

My pumpkin is from Doodle Dragon Studios and colored with Prismacolor pencils. I found the background paper in my scrap pile. I used Momento Tuxedo Black for my edging color. The row of pumpkins is from a EK punch called Pumpkin Patch. I punched it in black and orange then off set them for a shadow effect.

I think I only have 2 more cards to share til I'm all caught up!!

Don't Get Caught Daydreaming VSN Challenge

This challenge is to use the Glitter Window technique. I love this technique and can't wait to use it again!

I used this Glitter Window technique tutorial. To make the blue background I used Momento ink in Summer Sky and Danube Blue then stamped snowflakes in Summer Sky. For the glitter window snowflakes I used Paris Dusk Momento ink. To add a little more sparkle I used Stickles glitter glue around the Let It Snow.

Graffiti It Up! VSN Challenge

I had lots of fun with this challenge. You just needed to use something that sprays.

To make this card I edged the base with Antique Linen Distress Ink. For the tree layer I took a ziploc bag and rubbed it with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Ink then misted with water. Next I laid the bag over my paper and gently rubbed the ink in. After the ink dried for a few minutes I stamped the trees.

My son really loves using this bookmark. I think I'll make one for his Christmas stories book too.

Wow I haven't posted in forever! And its just a quick post today...I finally caught the bug my boys have been suffering from this month. I made this card last week for my son's 3rd birthday. Where does the time go? I still remember the first time I held him like it was yesterday but then I'm sure I will remember it forever.

My dp is from the All Seasons II pack by The Paper Studio. The sentiment was done by me on my computer. I used the sketch from i{heart}2stamp. It's my first time trying her sketches but it definitely won't be my last!!

Winter Wonderland VSN - Get Out The Salt

Challenge #6 is "Get Out The Salt" the challenge is to use the Salted Background technique.

I really loved this technique! I think my results were great for a first try and I'm excited to try it again. I didn't have glossy cardstock so I used Glossy Photo paper instead.

The first thing I did was clear emboss the trees then I used Distress Inks for the sky. I used regular and coarse sea salt. I let it dry naturally then cleaned off the salt. The trees didn't show up to well so I stamped over them with Colorbox Evergreen ink then cleaned off the excess. This gave a cute snow covered effect. The snowflake stamps on the edge are from Recollections.

The blue background paper was misted with Shimmer spray. Added ribbon, punched snowflake and a little bling to the snowflake to finish it off.
